Mulch give-away begins Oct. 15 at South Marysburgh landfill

An inaugural mulch give-away program begins Saturday, Oct. 15 at the South Marysburgh landfill (1132 Old Milford Road).

Taking advantage of the large quantities of brush the County receives at waste sites, the program is designed to reduce disposal costs, improve waste diversion through beneficial re-use, and to provide residents with a beneficial mulch product.

Mulch will be available every Saturday at the South Marysburgh landfill during regular hours of operation (8 a.m. – 4 p.m.), while supplies last.

The program is a self-serve service for residents. Those who wish to participate will need to bring their own supplies for collecting and transporting the mulch (heavy or motorized equipment is not permitted).
