Mummers present two original one-act plays

The Marysburgh Mummers present An Evening of Two Original One-Act Plays by their own Jennifer Goodman Sept. 22-25 at 7:30pm at the Mt. Tabor Playhouse, Milford.

“Christmas in July” is a story of four lifelong friends who get together for a girls weekend every summer.  Their fun-filled weekend is tossed a curve ball when one of the girls brings an outsider, breaking with tradition.  This newcomer has no idea what lays ahead and while trying to fit in and prove themselves worthy, fouls up every effort to win over these girls.  Misunderstandings and misadventures lead to a surprise revelation.

“Hunting Camp – No Girls Allowed”  Hunting Camp, a place where men are men and women are not welcome.  Generations of men have enjoyed their annual hunting retreat.  This year the peace, quiet, and tradition is disrupted as the youngest member of camp brings along his new wife.  The camp patriarch reminds the boys of the importance of tradition and rules.  The younger crowd revolt to instill a new order and their own traditions.  Will the bad cooking, fancy doo-dads, and a gun misfire turn this heavenly guy’s weekend into pure hell for the old boys?

Tickets are $10 and will be available at Scott’s Store (Picton), Wight’s Greenhouse (Wellington), The Rossmore Stop (Rossmore), and Hicks Store (Milford).  For more information, call Jen at 613-393-5755 or visit www.mummers.ca.
