Old-time radio fun night raises funds for Ostrander Point Fund – October 5

Enjoy an evening of music, comedy with the atmosphere of an old-time radio show  in support of the Ostrander Point Appeal Fund.

Artists Debra Tosh, Rita Di Ghent, Bluzone, David Somers, Mark Despault and emcee Richard Turtle will headline. A silent auction will also be held.

The fundraiser is set for Saturday, Oct. 5 from 7-10 p.m. at the Active Arts Studio, 116 Barley Road, Rednersville. Cost is $50 per person by donation, however space is limited so reservations are recommended. Call Cheryl Anderson at 613 471 1096.

After months of testimony, a provincially appointed Environmental Review Tribunal (ERT) ruled serious and irreversible harm to the natural environment would result if industrial wind turbines were allowed at Ostrander Point. The ERT stopped construction of nine wind turbines at Ostrander Point. However, the Ontario Ministry of the Environment and Gilead Power (the developer) are challenging the ERT’s decision.
