Panther girls tie last home game of the season

The PECI Panthers girls hockey team fought a tough battle as the Panthers tied the Moira Trojans 1-1 in their last home game of the season.
The game started off with both teams battling back and forth, getting a few chances. The Trojans started to come out stronger but were not able to hit the back of the net. The Panthers started to come back out hard, getting multiple chances to score, however they were stopped by the Trojans’ goalie. Both teams were pressuring each other but the Trojans were able to get the first goal of the game.

During the second period, the Panthers were determined to tie up the game. They had many chances but were not able to connect. Moira started to push back getting lots of chances but they were shut down by goalie Maddy Rowbotham. During a chance for the Panthers to score, the Trojans got a penalty which gave the Panthers an advantage but no one was able to gain a marker.
The game was back and forth for almost the whole third period, then finally Brooke Jackson got a breakaway, found the back of net and tied the game with a few minutes left in the game.
The last regular game of the season is set for Monday, Feb.y 26 at 3 p.m. versus Saint Theresa’s at the Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre.
