LEAGUE DESCRIPTIONS

NOVICE LEAGUE (GRADES K – 2):
The emphasis of this league is on introducing basketball to all players by using “small-ball” principals.  Lower nets, lighter balls and modified games will help these young hoopsters fall in love with the game!

COACHES: Panthers Basketball Senior Girls and Boys

DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE (GRADES 3 – 5):
The emphasis of this league is on building fundamental skills including passing, ball handling, shooting, dribbling, and defence on/off the ball, while introducing game strategies and play.

COACHES: Panthers Basketball Junior Girls and Boys

ELITE LEAGUE (GRADES 6 – 8):
​The emphasis of this league is on developing advanced offensive skills and learning game strategy (no experience necessary).

COACHES: Panthers Basketball Senior Girls and Boys

Monday March 23rd
* All players 6:00 – 8:00 pm for team selection

Monday April 27th
Monday May 4th
Monday May 11th

*Session 1: 6:00 -7:00 pm (20 min skill & 40 min game)
– Novice League, Girls Development and Elite Leagues –

*Session 2: 7:00 – 8:00 pm (20 min skill & 40 min game)
– Boys Development and Elite Leagues –

Maximum of 20 players per session to allow for individual skill development and increased court time during games

ALL GAMES WILL TAKE PLACE AT PRINCE EDWARD COLLEGIATE INSTITUTE
