Partial burn ban lifted in PEC

DEC. 24: Fire Chief Chad Brown has lifted the partial burn ban as conditions have improved enough to allow open air burning.
To have a fire in Prince Edward County, you must have a current permit and activate it every day that you are having a fire. A burn permit is required for all open air burning. Burn permits cost $20 and expire at the end of the calendar year (Dec.r 31, 2021).
DEC. 22: Due to high wind conditions, Fire Chief Chad Brown has put in place a partial burn ban for the municipality.
Under a partial ban, burning is restricted to a container with a screened top or a small campfire.
Prince Edward County Fire and Rescue reminds residents that a burn permit is required for all open air burning.
When conditions improve, the ban will be updated.
