PECI graduate is PEC OPP’s new community safety officer

Prince Edward County resident Aaron Millier has become the new Community Safety Officer (CSO) for the Prince Edward County OPP Detachment.

“In the fall of 2015 Aaron Miller fulfilled his lifetime goal of becoming a police officer with the Ontario Provincial Police,” said John Hatch, Detachment Commander. “He was posted to the Thousand Islands OPP detachment of Leeds County. Aaron did a brief secondment to the Frontenac Detachment and more recently in 2018, transferred back to his hometown community in Prince Edward County.”

Hatch notes Miller’s community involvement started at a very young age volunteering at the Picton United Church Foodbank. He is a graduate of PECI, and has maintained his community involvement while volunteering with various organizations such as the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary, County Kids of Steel Triathlon, and Relay for Life to list a few.

“When not volunteering, Aaron spends much time at the rink officiating minor hockey in the winter months, and he spends his summers sailing in and around Prince Edward County.”

Hatch also thanked Const. Karen German for filling in as the interim CSO since June.

“She has worked diligently for the past four months, keeping the community informed by submitting over 40 media releases, and conducting numerous interviews, presentations, and demonstrations.
