The 2020 Smile Cookie results are in, and they’re sweeter than ever.

Tim Hortons’ annual Smile Cookie Campaign raised $7,401 for the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation.

“This is the best Smile Cookie result raised in Prince Edward County to-date,” said Paul Massey, owner of the Picton and Wellington Tim Hortons. There were 1,178 more Smile Cookies sold in 2020 than in 2019.

“This year’s campaign was a tremendous success again and it wouldn’t have been possible without the loyal support of our customers and the dedicated staff who worked hard last week to create those 7,401 smiles,” said Paul Massey.

The campaign ran from Sept. 14 to 20. Both the Picton and Wellington restaurants designated proceeds of their $1 chocolate chunk cookie sales to the PECMH Foundation for the seventh consecutive year.

This year’s Smile Cookie campaign pushes Tim Hortons cumulative giving to the County’s hospital to $42,992.

“We are all smiles to receive this donation from Tim Hortons,” said Shannon Coull, executive director of the PECMH Foundation. “The commitment the Massey family and Tim Hortons have made to our County hospital over the past seven years is a sweet treat we will savour in the years to come.”

The donations, she said, enhance our capacity, beyond the level generated by our tax dollars, to care for patients in the County.

“The foundation plays a critical role in providing funding for essential, specialized equipment. Your dollars go a long way toward improving care for residents in our community who need treatment, close to home,” said Barbara McConnell, chairperson of the PECMH Foundation. “Thank you to Paul Massey, the staff at Tim Hortons and to all our amazing donors for their positive support of our hospital. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference in the care you and your family receive.

“We are blessed to live in this generous community which ensures we have a vibrant hospital armed with the best medical equipment possible.
