Person found deceased following single vehicle incident

A driver has been located deceased following a single vehicle incident on Loyalist Parkway (Hwy 33) near Wellington.

Prince Edward OPP and other first responders were called to the scene near Wellington around 8:15 a.m. Monday, Oct. 13. Loyalist Parkway was closed both directions from Conley Rd to Belleville St for a single vehicle collision in Wellington in Prince Edward County.

An eastbound pick-up truck had left the roadway and struck some trees. The driver, who was alone in the vehicle, was able to get out of the truck and was located nearby. He was rushed to a local hospital with no vital signs and was pronounced deceased.

The individual has been identified as a 69-year-old man from Quinte West.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Prince Edward County detachment, with assistance from the OPP East Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team
