Person pronounced deceased in County Road 11 incident

On Monday, Oct. 28, shortly after 8 a.m., Prince Edward OPP officers, Prince Edward County Fire and Rescue and Hastings Quinte EMS responded to a single vehicle incident on County Road 11.
They located a vehicle fully engulfed in fire and extinguished the blaze. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The investigation continues with the assistance of members of the Technical Collision Investigation Team and the Office of the Chief Coroner.

UPDATE 1:30 p.m.: County Road 11 has reopened.
County Road 11 between County Road 18 and Kleinsteuber Park Road is closed on Monday, Oct. 28 because of a motor vehicle incident.
The section of road is expected to be closed for most of the day.
Drivers are asked to avoid the area if possible and follow the directions of the traffic control.
