A team of three Picton students brought home awards from the “Grappling Industries – Summer Havoc” Brazilian Jiu Jitsu tournament at Ryerson University in Toronto last week.

Ashten Sawitsky placed first in white-belt women’s absolute (all weights) in the Gi (uniform) and 2nd in women’s absolute no-Gi competition.

Thomas Seed placed second in Master’s (over 30) Men’s under 181.5 lb intermediate in no-Gi and 3rd in white belt Master’s Men’s in the Gi.

Jesse Beimers placed first in Men’s under 195.5 intermediate no-Gi.

“All three of them are extremely hard working and dedicated members of the dojo (club),” said Jason Bilodeau, chief instructor and owner at the Picton Martial Arts club. “They all train regularly and it’s no surprise that the represented so well.”
