Quaiffs ‘suit up’ and talk up County artists in Toronto

Quaiffs-with-LtGovMayor Robert Quaiff and wife Susan were among guests invited to the opening this week of the new show of art displayed in the Lieutenant Governor’s suite at Queens Park.

Identity: Art Inspired by the Great Lakes features diverse works that capture the greatness of the Great Lakes through a variety of media. Quaiff noted he had opportunity to speak with Lt.-Gov. Elizabeth Dowdswell about the many artists and galleries in Prince Edward County.

“The art featured in this new exhibition masterfully depicts the unique relationships the artists have with each of the Great Lakes,” said Dowdswell. “Their work brings to mind what we have always known: Ontarians have a deep connection to these iconic bodies of water. The exhibition reminds us of the economic, socio-cultural, and environmental role the Lakes have played in the life of Ontario, both past and present. I can’t think of a more inspirational backdrop as the province welcomes the world for the Climate Summit of the Americas and the Pan Am and Parapan Am Games this summer.”

The County’s mayor and first lady were also thrilled to have their photograph taken with Patrick Adams, Canadian actor and star of the hit television series “Suits”.  Adams plays Mike Ross, a brilliant college dropout turned lawyer. He is also an avid photographer. Adams attended the Queens Park show with fiance Troian Bellisario, from Pretty Little Liars.
