Quinte Conservation cancels flood outlook

With Lake Ontario water levels returned to a normal seasonal high for this time of year, Quinte Conservation has cancelled its flood outlook. Levels are expected to continue declining over the next few weeks with sustained high outflows.
“The International Joint Commission will continue releasing high outflows from Lake Ontario while considering all the interests within the Lake Ontario – St. Lawrence system,” said Dave Eastcott, Water Resources Technician.
Watershed residents are reminded there is still a risk of high water impacts, especially during periods of active weather. Shoreline property owners are also reminded that all work along the shoreline will require a permit from Quinte Conservation.
Staff will continue to monitor conditions and will provide an update if forecasts and conditions change.
