Real estate listings increased in March

Residential real estate listings with the Quinte and District Association of Realtors increased by just over seven per cent last month, compared to 2014. There were 566 listings in 2015 compared with 528 in 2014.

“March 2015 numbers reflect 226 overall units sold compared to 190 sold for March 2014. The residential portion of the sold units was 198 in 2015 and 151 in 2014,” said Jamie Troke, president of the association. “The average residential sale price in March 2015 was slightly higher than 2014, coming in at $223,539 compared to $222,732 last year, reflecting an increase of 0.4 per cent.”

“The first quarter of 2015 is now behind us and hopefully so is winter,” said Troke. “We look forward to the spring market with interest rates still remaining low and recent economic growth announcements with building permits on the rise over last year, all signs are positive in our market.”
