Rediscover Delhi with Friends of Macaulay

Did you live in Delhi (now part of the town of Picton)? The Friends of Macaulay Heritage Park would like to hear your stories of living in the neighbourhood.
‘Rediscover Delhi’ and celebrate the 218th birthday of Reverend William Macaulay Thursday, Aug. 9 from 1-7 p.m. at 35 Church Street, Picton.

    I showed this picture to my mother as she grew up in Delhi.
    My Grandfather purchased or traded another piece of land on what was then Mill St ( the laundry mat) for the Tecumseh Hotel around 1946. He owned the property until his death in 1981. he also had a blacksmith shop on the corner of mill and union where there is now a green bell box. It can be seen in the picture. What is now or where the Elks Hall is, was once the Mission Church and before and during the war it was a Soup Kitchen for men who had no Jobs. From the Photo it looks like the house on the corner of Head st and Union is still standing.
