OPP investigate scene of fatal accident

Prince Edward County OPP spent the morning on the scene of a fatal motor accident on County Road 2 between Closson Road and Wilson Road in Hallowell.
Officers, and other emergency personnel were dispatched at approximately 4:30 a.m.
“Upon officers arriving on scene, it was discovered that a single motor vehicle had left the roadway and collided with a tree at that location,” said Constable Connor Durkin. “The vehicle was extensively damaged by fire.”
The deceased has been identified as 66 year old John Pickell, of Wellington.
Detours around the road closure are in place. OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) are on scene to assist with the investigation
