Sewer repairs on Bowery Street; water repairs on Philip

Emergency repairs and replacement of a sanitary sewer lateral is taking place on Bowery Street in Picton Tuesday, Jan. 20 until approximately 5 pm. Watermain repairs are also under way on Philip Street between Maitland and John streets in Picton. Work is expected to be completed by 5 pm.
Philip Street will be reduced to one lane of traffic but further traffic disruptions may be required including this section of the street being closed with local traffic only in place. Traffic control will be in place. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes.
Bowery Street may be reduced to one lane of traffic at the intersection of Picton Main and King streets. Traffic control will be in place. Motorists are asked to avoid the construction area and travel alternate routes if possible.
These repairs are not expected to impact water quality or sanitary sewer service. Should coloured water be experienced due to vibrations from construction, customers are encouraged to flush the cold water tap closest to the water meter until water runs clear once work is complete.
