MARCH 30: Thousands of County and area residents woke up without power Sunday morning as the weekend’s ice storm moves east. Others have power, but are experiencing internet outages, and downed social media and weather sites.

As the temperature rises above zero, reports continue of both branches and ice falling.

Hydro One reports more than 200,000 power outages across the province and restoration efforts continue. In most cases, it reports, the accumulation of ice on tree branches caused them to break, and brought power lines down with them.

There are no alerts in effect as of Sunday afternoon. The forecast is for 5C with periods of rain. Monday’s forecast is 14C with rain.
The sun is expected to come out Tuesday, but it’s colder again, forecast at 3C.
