Traffic disruptions on East Mary and Talbot streets Feb. 1

The Water and Wastewater Department will be working on water main repairs at the intersection of East Mary Street and Bridge Street in Picton Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022 beginning at 8am, with an expected completion time of 6pm the same day.

East Mary Street will be open to local traffic only from York Street. East Mary Street will be closed at the intersection of Bridge Street while repairs are underway. Traffic control will be in place.

These repairs are not expected to impact water quality; however, residents on Bridge Street between Main and Union streets may experience temporary loss of water service, intermittent pressure fluctuations and coloured water while construction is taking place.
If coloured water is experienced, customers are encouraged to flush their water lines at the cold water tap nearest to the water meter once repairs are complete and water service is restored.

Broadband Maintenance is expected to be boring across Talbot Street in the vicinity of the Talbot on the Trail subdivision in Picton Tuesday, Feb. 1 (weather permitting.)

The work may result in traffic disruption and lane restrictions on Talbot Street between the Millennium Trail and Argyle Crescent between the hours of 7am and 7pm.

Motorists are asked to take caution or avoid the construction area if possible.
