One of the new pieces of information that is provided by the Health Unit is the number of infected people who are not vaccinated. The bulk of the cases are comprised of those people. Yes some vaccinated people get sick, but they are the minority.
Yet there are still many people that are not taking advantage of vaccination. That is their choice. I would submit not a wise choice, but their choice.
On Saturday, in Bancroft a group of anti vaxxers were protesting on the street. Global News is running a news item about anti vaxxers protesting outside a restaurant because the owner is in favour of a vaccine passport. She doesn’t require a passport and in fact is still only serving on the patio.
If you don’t believe in vaccines that is your choice. I and many others do believe in vaccines. There is no rational reason to engage in these vocal protestations. So instead of putting on these meaningless displays, stay away from the rest of us. We don’t want to get infected when you do.

Is it Covid complacency or the tourism industry’s need for business that we don’t see HPEPH Covid updates on a daily basis. After last year’s no holds barred record haul in small business and BnB profits (which I and many many other rate payers reaped not one iota of the benefits, other than to continue to drive on unsafe roads, be inconvenienced by the throngs and have our property taxes increase) we saw a huge increase in cases not soon after. Our cases are on the rise again and summer isn’t over. Walk through Picton and count the masks being worn. It’s pathetic. It might be time for council to mandate masks for visitors and locals in all public settings. I’m double vaccinated and I will never think I’m Covid invincible. I will wear a mask everywhere for the foreseeable future. After all, I enjoyed not getting the cold this past winter.

Does anyone know the progress for the updated and improved ventilation systems for our schools? I am concerned about the safety of our kids – and after seeing the progress report from the Toronto PS Board, there might be good reason to be concerned. In T.O. out of more than 500 school sites, only a very few have been completed. Ontario schools are supposed to be properly ventilated in order to keep COVID under control – at least that is what the parents have been told.
