Waring House bookings maliciously encrypted – please confirm reservations

Message from Waring House innkeepers Christopher and Norah Rogers:

To our loyal customers and friends:

We are writing to you today to let you know that The Waring House has fallen victim to a malicious cyber-attack that has resulted in all of our reservation system files being encrypted, and no longer available to us.

To be clear, our data was not accessed or stolen ; it was encrypted, meaning we could not retrieve it. In no way has anyone’s personal data been accessed or compromised.

The attack resulted in all of our reservation system files being no longer available to us. Needless to say this has left us in a challenging position.

We know that we had a lot of reservations on our system for personal travel, family reunions, corporate events, weddings, etc. Much of these reservations can possibly be rebuilt through paper and email trails, but we really want to be certain that we do not disappoint anyone by missing their reservation or upcoming event.

If you, or anyone you know, has a reservation for accommodation or an event at Waring House, please reach out to us and help us rebuild our reservation system. If you are in doubt about the status of your event, please call us. We are working very hard to insure that all of our customers have a wonderful Waring House experience.

Please call our reservations desk at 613 476-7492, ext 1, or 800 621-4956, ext 1 if you have any information that could assist us. Your understanding and assistance is greatly appreciated.

After all that you, Chris and Norah have done for this community. We’re here for you. I’m looking forward to my picnic lunch from your takeout and encourage all your other patrons to also help you out.
