Washburn area residents may want to supply own water Thursday morning

Water users in the area of Washburn Street in Picton may want to supply their own Thursday morning.

Water distribution work at the dead end of Washburn Street Thursday, Sept. 28 will be under way from 9 a.m. to about noon as the County works on a valve replacement.

Customers in the affected area are encouraged to store some potable drinking water for use during the interruption. Residents that will be directly affected by the interruption will receive a hand-delivered notice. Water service will not be impacted along Picton Main Street.

The work is not expected to impact water quality; however, residents living in the area will experience intermittent interruptions to water service. They may also experience coloured water when water service is restored.

To address pressure loss and the potential of coloured water, customers are encouraged to flush their water lines at the cold water tap nearest to the water meter once work is complete and regular water service is restored.
