Watermain repair on County Road 49 reduces traffic to one lane Monday

The Water and Wastewater Department is working on emergency repairs today as a result of a watermain leak on County Road 49 in Picton.

Work began at 9 am Nov. 25, with an expected completion time of 7 pm.

County Road 49 will be reduced to one lane between Fawcett Avenue and Edgecliffe Crescent for the duration of the repair. Motorists are asked to avoid the construction area if possible.

These repairs are not expected to impact water quality; however, residents living in the area may experience a partial or complete loss of pressure and/or coloured water while construction is taking place.

If coloured water is experienced, customers are encouraged to flush their water lines at the cold water tap nearest to the water meter once maintenance is complete.
