‘What is a Conservation Reserve?’ first in new South Shore public series

The South Shore Joint Initiative invites the public to join in on SSJI Presents, a series of public webinars beginning Nov. 30.

The first in the series is “What is a Conservation Reserve?” features Audrey Heagy, Community Council Coordinator for the St. Williams Conservation Reserve in South Western Ontario. The St. Williams Reserve may serve as a model for Prince Edward County’s South Shore Conservation Reserve.

St Williams Conservation Reserve was established in 2004 upon the closing of the St. Williams Forestry Station.

“We can benefit from the Community Council’s many years of experience working with the Conservation Reserve management plan and the public,” notes Cheryl Anderson SSJI vice-president. “Audrey will explain the process of developing a management plan and the relationship with initially, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry and now with the Ministry of Environment Conservation and Parks.”

Everyone is welcome to participate in the webinar; however, space is limited. Click here to register.

You will be sent a link to access the webinar one day in advance. There will be a chance to ask questions through the “chat” on the zoom platform.
