What’s on Aug. 8-14

Aug 8 – Fish Fry at Rose House Museum 5 pm $15 music and food, rain location the community centre. First come, first served. Fish grilled to perfection with salads and dessert. $15 per plate. Help the museum go green by bringing your own plates and cutlery! Bring your lawn chairs as well so you can relax and enjoy the musical entertainment after your meal.

August 8 – Northport Summer Festival at Sophiasburgh Centennial Park in Northport.

Sat. Aug. 8 – Shakespeare’s Hamlet presented by Driftwood Theatre’s BArd’s Bus Tour at the Bloomfield Millpond 7:30 p.m. Rain location at Bloomfield United Church. Pay what you can.

Aug. 8-9 Prince Edward Auto Club Street Meet Ameliasburgh

Aug. 8 – Wellington Lions Dragonboat Festival all day Racing action, vendors, food.

Aug. 8 – End at 2 p.m. of Jewellery Silent Auction at Prince Edward Community Care’s Thrift Shop, 153 Main St., Picton. Bidding ends at 2pm sharp. One hundred per cent of the funds raised help seniors in Prince Edward County to live at home.

August 9 – PEC Photography Club meets from 7-9 p.m. at the Wellington Library. All welcome.

August 9 – Free Sunday Concert in the Park at Waupoos. The Reasons (50s and 60s music) sponsored by The County Cider and Estate Winery. Bring your lawn chair and join in at 2699 County Road 8, Waupoos 6-8pm, Canteen opens at 5:30.

August 9 – Quinte Educational Museum (QEMA) Summer Music Series featuring Country Jam with County favourites at Wellington Town Hall at 7pm.


Aug. 11 – Knit and Chat drop in. All levels welcome at the Milford Branch Library every Tuesday 10 a.m. to noon.

Aug. 11 – Summer Reading Club Story Time in Wellington Park 11 a.m. (In the library if it’s raining).

Aug. 11 – Author Ken Murray reading and talk with questions on new novel Eulogy. At the Picton branch library 7 p.m.

Aug. 12 – The Puppet Tamer Ventriloquist children’s performer. Free of charge at the Wellington branch library 10:30 a.m.

Aug. 12 – Free Dinner meal in Benson Park with Food Not Bombs. Fresh produce to take 5:30 p.m. Picton Town Hall if raining.

Aug. 12 – Seniors Luncheon Social – Picton. Seniors welcome to Prince Edward Community Care’s Seniors Luncheon of homemade soup, fire roasted haddock, mashed potato, buttered peas, coleslaw, bread and butter, scrumptious cherry cheesecake, topped off with coffee & tea for $10 per person. Reserve your place by the Tuesday prior at noon by calling 613-476-7493. Bring soup bowl, plate, cup and cutlery. Deliveries to housebound seniors in or near Picton. Advise when you register.


Aug. 13 – Pop ups Children’s program explores pop up books, songs and pop up craft at the Wellington branch library at 11 a.m. and Picton branch at 2 p.m.

Aug. 13 – PE Radio Club meets 19:30 at the Wellington Public Library.

Aug. 14 – Let’s Play Children’s Program fun with team games and activities at the Ameliasburgh Public Library11 a.m. and the Consecon Library at 2 p.m.
