WORLD PREMIERE! The County… Our Legends, Folklore and Music – Oct. 6!

Suzanne Pasternak is presenting her new show The County Show… Our Legends, Folklore and Music on Saturday, October 6 at the Black River Chapel in Black Creek. There will be two performances only, at 2 & 8 p.m.

Emily Fennell and Natasha Pasternak will travel to the county to participate in the show. “Emily premiered the role of Minerva in 1994 up until 2003. This is the first time since 2003 I have had the honour to perform with her. What is kind of spooky is that Emily is related to many of the historical characters in the show. My daughter Natasha will be performing as well,” say Pasternak. “Natasha had a leading role for three years in the Festival Players The Picton Papers and Ship of Fire. I am thrilled the girls are putting down their electric guitars to come home to their roots music. This is the music they grew up with.

The County Show is a culmination of thirty years of primary research, collecting oral histories and archival research by Suzanne. “I have dedicated my body of work to bringing the history of Prince Edward County to life on the stage. The County Show is a re-working of one of my earlier folk operas Solomon Mouck which premiered in 1992 and only had two performances. Mark Despault has written some fantastic music for the County Show and will be a featured artist. Rick Zimmerman and David Colwell will also perform in the show.

Tickets are $20.00 and can be purchased at Books and Company and Hicks General Store or by calling Suzanne 613-476-6143
