Take a hike in support of Hospice Prince Edward

County residents and friends are invited to take a hike in support of Hospice Prince Edward.

Hikers, runners, strollers, ramblers, wanderers, and their well-behaved dogs, are all welcome to join friends of Hospice Prince Edward at this pledge-based family event, to raise much-needed funds to support people in the community who are living with progressive life-limiting illness, their loved ones and caregivers.

Participants will join thousands of people across the country on Sunday, May 6 as they come together to raise funds for Hospice. The County’s 7th annual Hike for Hospice Prince Edward will be held at the Prince Edward Community Centre and will progress throughout Picton.

Karen Moore, Executive Director of Hospice Prince Edward, is excited about this year’s event.

“It is a time when friends and families gather together to hike, walk or ride in remembrance of a loved one. Every dollar raised at this year’s hike will support our mission: to provide quality of life, dignity in death and grief and bereavement support to all those living with or affected by a Life Limiting Illness. We continue to expand our services into all parts of the county, and offer services at no cost.”

Hospice is grateful for the generous support of Chestnut Park Real Estate as a multi-year key sponsor of the hike.

“We are grateful to our many community sponsors for this event, and this year welcome the Frere Brothers who will provide the entertainment,” said Moore.

Everybody is invited for a day of connecting, meeting old acquaintances and new friends, entertainment and exercise, all for a great cause.

Hike for Hospice is also supported annually by the municipality, Picton Rotary, Wentworth Landscape Design and BMO Picton.
