Fierce wind batters boats, docks – power out in Bloomfield this morning

Fierce wind with gusts up to 45km overnight battered docks, boatlifts and small boats in the Prinyer’s Cove area. Power is reported out in Bloomfield this morning. Environment Canada has predicted winds will remain out of the northeast for the next few days, at about 25km/h. Between 5-10 mm of rain is expected from Monday afternoon to Tuesday afternoon. We are on Adolphus Reach near Prinyers Cove and our dock was destroyed also; very high waves – rollers actually – plus a huge tree branch down which finished the job. We can be thankful however that we are not dealing with forest fires and floods!
