Prince Edward County residents boarded four buses to rally for their hospital at Queen’s Park Wednesday. Almost 200 citizens in attendance broke out in short “save our hospital” chants, but were noted for their calm demonstration and were told they were “welcome back any time”.
The core committee of the Patrons of our County Hospital (POOCH), reported a short, but good discussion with Health Minister Deb Matthews, local MPP Todd Smith and Conservative party health critic Christine Elliott. The group handed over its petition – signed by 5,520 citizens – to Smith, who said he would present it tomorrow in the legislature.
