The Bay of Quinte Remedial Action Plan received $413,000 in funding for projects to improve the bay.
The funds, provided by the Great Lakes Sustainability Fund, will go toward implementing rehabilitation projects to continue to improve the quality of the bay’s ecosystem.
“The bay provides this area with numerous amenities everything from quality drinking water to the economic spin-off of a world class recreational fishery,” said Sarah Midlane-Jones, BQRAP communications. “The funding will support the monitoring of habitat for fish and wildlife, the Habitat Enhancement Program and the completion of the Bay of Quinte Natural Heritage Strategy along the development of the Bay of Quinte Water Quality Monitoring Program.
