424 Squadron SAR flare training

424 (Transport and Rescue) Squadron will be conducting flare training over Lake Ontario, south of Brighton and west of Prince Edward County starting at 9 p.m. Monday, June 19th until 1 a.m. Tuesday June 20th.
In the event this training is cancelled, it will occur Tuesday, June 20th to Wednesday, June 21st at the same times.
In the area during this time, a CC-130H Hercules will be launching between four and eight yellow-white flares from an altitude no higher than 5,500 ft. above sea level.
This training is in support of nighttime SAR missions and allows 424 (T&R) Squadron to practice night flying and spotting procedures. This training is not expected to pose a disturbance to the community.
