Prince Edward County’s bounty shines again in a web series filmed by a Toronto based production company that features top Canadian chefs on foraging quests to find the freshest ingredients. The web episode premiered this week at the Drake Hotel in Toronto.

The company’s main web series is called “In The Weeds” (www.intheweedstv.com youtube.com/intheweedstv), said Lindsay Kutner, producer, at Toronto based Butternut Productions, which focuses on content specifically dealing with food and drink.

“Our web series is now its second season and the episode we launched this week was filmed in Prince Edward County back in August of this year. Each episode features a Canadian chef foraging for a certain wild ingredient before cooking a meal in the wild with their finds. Our chefs are really excited to get out and be shown where all this amazing food comes from,” said Kutner.

“Matt DeMille has been a great supporter of the show since we launched and we were so excited to finally feature him in beautiful PEC. He wanted to bring along his friends Neil and Henry, who he often goes on foraging trips with in the county.

“It was a perfect day for our team to tour the county and visit local producers. The cookout was highlight of a day of foraging. Matt, Henry and Neil foraged for milkweed pods and cooked them with pickerel that they picked up earlier in the day from Kendell Dewey. The meal was paired with County wine that they picked up on the way to the foraging site.”
