Joined by their furry friends, members of the Prince Edward County 4H Pet Club shared what they’ve learned at an achievement program show Saturday at the County Farm Centre.

The 15-member group posted project information displays and spoke with visitors about their pets and their care. Rabbits and bunnies from Black Jack’s Rabbit Rescue also joined in on the fun, along with a litter of kittens which auditioned for placement in forever homes. The club held a bake sale to raise funds for the two shelters.

Jane Thompson, leader with Sherrie Brown and Brenda Dettlinger, said the group packs a lot of information into its six-week program.

“They learned about their own pets and also about other pets that they might like to have,” said Thompson. “It is a wonderful way to learn how to care for animals and learn about their training and exercising.”

Club meetings included information from experts and visits to the animal hospital and the grooming station where they learned about bathing and grooming pets. They also visited the rabbit rescue and Loyalist Humane Society shelters.
