Garbage and recycling to be collected Canada Day
Administrator | Jun 30, 2020 | Comments 0
Garbage collection is to go ahead as scheduled in Picton, South Marysburgh and North Marysburgh wards and recycling pick up in Picton and Bloomfield on Canada Day.
The landfill site in Picton will be closed for the statutory holiday.
Effective July 1, the County will once again require all garbage bags have a tag at the curbside.
Since March 26, the County allowed residents to put out one untagged bag of garbage per week. The temporary measure was intended to help individuals and families who were self-isolating to dispose of garbage safely.
With the province moving into stage 2 reopening on June 12, several locations will be open and selling bag tags.
Residents can exchange a damaged blue box free of charge by visiting one of the municipality’s seven landfill and transfer sites. Exchanges are no longer accepted at Shire Hall. Additional blue boxes are still available for purchase at Shire Hall for $8.
