Paul will be dearly missed by his beloved wife of 37 years, Lisa (nee Joyce), his sons Dave (Karisa) and Dan (Alexis), his grandchildren Mia, Payton and Piper and his brothers and sisters in-law. Born in Picton to Clarence (Pat) and Louise, Paul graduated from Loyalist College in Belleville and preceded to work in the area at different locations as a millwright until arriving at Lake Ontario Cement (Essroc) for the next 40 years until retiring at age 66. The only thing Paul loved more than hunting, fishing and being in the outdoors was his family. He was so very proud of both his boys. Paul and Lisa moved to Belleville in 2018 due to health issues. The family is very grateful to all the staff at Belmont Long Term Care Facility and the PSW’s from Paramed who all helped with his care in his final years. VINCE (Marty) MARTEL – Left a hole in our lives on Sunday, October 25th, when he departed for calmer waters from Hospice Prince Edward at the age of 92. Marty, Vince, Ratso, Wib, the Rat – he was a man of many names, many careers, many friends, and many hobbies. He touched so many lives through multiple decades as a high school teacher at PECI, a town councillor, on the fairways at the Picton Golf Club, at the Prince Edward Yacht Club, and he may have even sold you a house. Marty had a keen sense of humour, loved a good debate, was a world traveller an avid reader, never turned down a drink, a social gathering, or an adventure. He was intelligent, infuriating, independent, and was more compassionate than he would like to let on. Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, pre–World War II, he was a true Bluenoser, loved the ocean, and later the Great Lakes, spent countless hours on the water (but never drank it), and could maneuver any size or type of boat effortlessly. Marty will be sorely missed by so many in our community, by his extended family in Nova Scotia, but mostly by his wife, Jan Syer, his sparring partner (and stepdaughter), J.J. Syer (J.C. Morliere), and his most precious friend and granddaughter, Sophie Morliere. I’m sure he would want us to send special love to his Yacht Club friends, and Ian Hunt and Barb Wilkins who were such great support to the end (and remind them that he got out without paying his last hockey wager). A Celebration of Life will be held at Prince Edward Yacht Club (Hill St) on Friday, November 21st from 4pm to 7pm with remarks happening around 5:30. Marty would want donations to be directed towards Hospice Prince Edward or the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation. Arrangements in the care of the AINSWORTH FUNERAL HOME, 288 NOXON AVENUE, WELLINGTON. Online condolences may be shared at www.ainsworthfuneralhome.com

Kayla leaves behind young sons Jasper Craig and Sonny Wry. Parents Dave + Wendy Rose and Darnell Poff. Siblings Jason Rose (Kerrie Anne), Alicia Rose, Gordie Poff, and Rachel Poff, and beloved nephew Harold. Kayla also leaves behind her loving partner Chris Jeffs. Kayla was loved dearly and deeply by her very large family, including her Nanny Cheryl Valleau, Uncle Mike Fountoukis (Katie) and Aunt Tina Fountoukis; her great aunts and uncles and many cousins. Kayla’s memory will live on in her children’s fathers, Cory Craig and Nick Wry. Predeceased by her loving grandparents Gus Fountoukis and Harold + Helen Rose. A special thank you from Kayla and the family for those who helped her every step of the way, including a special thanks to cousin Suzanne Carter, who accompanied her and the boys on her Walt Disney adventure funded through Melanie’s Way Foundation. Kayla was 3 years old when her mother Wendy met Dave. From there, Dave and Wendy raised Kayla and her brother Jason in their first family home in Fawcettville. At the age of 13, Kayla became a big sister to Alicia. Kayla had many friends at Pinecrest Elementary and even more at PECI. She excelled in academics and even made the venture program. Kayla worked at Nanny and Poppy’s restaurant, Gus’s Family Restaurant, for many years. Following its closure, she began working at Bailey’s Casual Dining, where she was recognized in the community by her smile and excellent customer service. Friday nights, Kayla would be found on Big Island at Uncle Leverne and Aunt Stella’s playing cards and sipping beers. Kayla’s favourite author was Colleen Hoover and she enjoyed all things arts and crafts. Above all else, Kayla was a devoted mother. She was ever so protective and loving to Jasper and Sonny. She would always go all out for their birthday parties, Easter, Christmas, and any chance to spoil them. During the last years of her life, Kayla dedicated herself to her boys — journaling, planning, and creating meaningful videos, collages, voice recordings, and keepsakes that will allow them to remember her always. As per her request, Kayla is to be cremated and laid to rest in Sophiasburgh Cemetery alongside plenty of family. JOHN CHARLES HOPPER – March 2, 1937 – October 20, 2025 – On October 20th, 2025, The Hop set off from Hospice Prince Edward on his final ride down the Highway to Heaven. With a smile on his face and tears in our eyes, his family and close friends said a fond and peaceful farewell to John Charles Hopper in his 89th year. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, John lived a life marked by generosity, adventure, and unwavering dedication to community. He was predeceased by his father Maxwell Hopper, mother Eva (Devlin) Hopper,
stepmother Francis Orchard, sister Maxine Wilson, and stepsister Susan Herron.
John is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Dianne (Evans) Hopper; his son Stuart; and his cherished grandchildren Luke, Sophie, and William. He was a loving uncle to Steve Wilson, Cheryl Wilson, Marnie Pereversoff, and their families, and is also survived by his sister Judy Rawlins and stepbrother Richard Leggatt. He is fondly remembered by Josee Hebert and Pixie Hopper. John lived life to the fullest! Devoted to family first, he also had a rare gift for turning strangers into friends – an openness that fueled his love of travel, business and community service. Though John left school in grade 10, his thirst for education and learning was a daily pursuit. His career began with grit and determination – working in an Ottawa foundry, Simpsons-Sears, and Johnson’s Wax where his excellence in sales first stood out. But of course, John’s true passion was cars, and he started selling at an Ottawa dealership where he soon became General Manager. In 1971, John fulfilled his dream by opening Hopper Pontiac Buick GMC in North Bay, which under his leadership grew to become one of Canada’s top dealerships. He later added Hertz Rent-a-Car and one of the first Saturn dealerships, and in 1986, John combined his passion for sports and business by purchasing the North Bay Centennials of the OHL. John was a passionate mentor, often encouraging high school students to pursue education, and humbly sharing that his own success was a product of hard work, a bit of luck, and a positive attitude. No matter where he lived—North Bay, Abbotsford, or Prince Edward County—John immersed himself in community life. He served two terms on North Bay City Council and led a hugely successful campaign raising over $7 million for the North Bay Regional Health Centre. He was also active in the Rorab Shrine Club, Kiwanis, and his church. In Abbotsford, he volunteered with the Matsqui Prison, visiting and mentoring inmates. In Ontario, he supported the Progressive Conservative Party and served several terms on LCBO Board of Directors. In retirement, John and Dianne settled in Picton, ON where John was instrumental in launching 99.3 County FM. He and Dianne were generous donors to the new PEC Memorial Hospital and ROC Youth Services. A devout Anglican, John loved and supported his church wherever they lived, and the choirs always appreciated his beautiful singing voice and his love for music. John embraced life with joy and curiosity. He traveled the world by air, sea and land. There were numerous road trips on motorcycles with friends, and he and Dianne had many adventures where they explored the globe together. Always seeking thrills and adventure, John even zip lined over Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe in his early 80s. John’s love for speed was known far and wide – whether it was boats, cars, motorcycles, or planes. If it went fast, it made The Hop smile. John also loved all of their four-legged friends, and most especially Cece. Perhaps nothing defined John more than his quiet generosity. Whether offering a kind tip to a server or helping a family in need, John gave without fanfare—just a man who understood life’s hardships and responded with compassion. The family extends heartfelt thanks to Penny Cronkwright for her kindness and caring in recent years, the staff at Quinte Gardens for their wonderful care over the past few months, and to Dr. Greg Leal and Dr. Amber Hayward-Stewart for their care and compassion. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Mary Magdalene Anglican Church in Picton, ON – Monday, November 10th, 2025 at 1:00pm. A reception will follow with an opportunity to share stories and memories. A celebration of life will be held in North Bay, ON at a later date. John’s ashes will be interred in a private ceremony at the Merivale, Ottawa cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of John can be made to: Hospice Prince Edward, The Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation, St. Mary Magdalene Anglican Church or the charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to the Ainsworth Funeral Home, 288 Noxon Avenue, Wellington. Online condolences may be shared at www.ainsworthfuneralhome.com

AMANDA BRIANNE CLAPP – May 6, 1983 – Oct. 11, 2025 – Amanda Brianne Clapp, of Quinte West and Milford.
Our beautiful friend, sister and niece has set off on her next journey, and we do hope she gets to see the world as she wished! She fought so hard to stay a bit longer, but her tired soul had taken all it could handle and she leaves us all with a great emptiness in our hearts. She loved the sunshine, how fitting that it be raining the day that she passed. She very much disliked the rain. We hope now she gets to feel the warmth on her face every single day. She had an immense love for animals and spent much of her time caring for her own fur babies – Sassy (Dublin), Pal, Bear, Camo, Bruce and Kaepernick, and the not-so-furry Butterscotch. We know that she will miss them most of all, and we hope that she was greeted with happy tails wagging by her beloved Winston and Laika, her horse Wizard, and her tiny tortoise Gertie on the other side of The Bridge. In her short time here, she also fiercely advocated for foster dogs and opened her home to many of them over the years. Helping each one move on to loving “fur-ever” homes. She loved the fall! Hallowe’en and all things spooky were her favourite, and though we know she wouldn’t have chosen to go now – or so soon – that this time of year would be ideal for her crossing on to whatever comes next. If you were lucky enough to call her “friend”, know that you too were loved – with her whole heart and soul. We hope too as she transitions onto her next path, that Mike was there to take her by the hand and show her where she needs to go. She was never really able to move through the loss and sadness that she felt when he passed away suddenly – and so our wish for her now is that she can feel that love again, and that she left us knowing how truly loved and cherished she was by all of us here. The family extends a special thank you to Dr Laura Milne for her compassion and care. Predeceased by her parents David and Maureen; and her spouse Michael McDonald. Survived by her sister Jennifer and by her aunts, uncles, cousins and her many friends. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will take place in the spring. If you wish to honour her memory, a donation to an animal rescue group of your choice would be most appropriate. Arrangements entrusted to the AINSWORTH FUNERAL HOME, 288 NOXON AVENUE, WELLINGTON. MYRNA ANN WOOD – August 16, 1936 – September 26, 2025 – The youngest of eight siblings, Myrna Wood (Aiken/Schoenfeld) was born to Rolly and Ferne Aiken (Crouse) in Grundy Center, Iowa. After the passing of Ferne in 1939, Myrna was adopted by Fred and June Schoenfeld whom she lived with until graduating from Grundy Center High School in 1954. Myrna spent a year at Iowa University. After a few years moving through various locations in the United States, Myrna moved to Canada in 1959 with her then husband Robertson Wood of Winnipeg. Important time was spent in Montreal working with well-known left-wing activist and intellectual, Stan Gray. The couple moved to Hamilton after the 1970 FLQ crisis. Myrna Wood became a trail blazing Second wave feminist and was one of the founders of Canada’s first Women’s Liberation Movement in Toronto. In New York City she helped to organize a city-wide Women’s Liberation group including women from Students for a Democratic Society. In 1969, she co-wrote an essay entitled “Bread and Roses” with Kathy McAfee calling for a movement to organize working-class women. She was active in the Canadian Women’s Abortion Caravan and took part in the protest in the House of Commons gallery for which she spent a night in jail. Her sense of social justice extended from women’s issues to combating racism and to labour rights and unionism. Myrna was a career activist, but her wage work was mostly in public libraries. She loved books and libraries and valued them as public institutions. She was a talented sewer and knitter. Her interest and awareness of bird life was discovered while working as a librarian in Hamilton. Upon retirement in 1994 Myrna moved to Prince Edward County with a new passion for birds and birding and soon became an activist for nature. Myrna, with Terry Sprague, was a founding member of Prince Edward Point Bird Observatory and Prince Edward County Field Naturalists (PECFN). She and Terry also were involved with the formation of the South Shore Important Bird and Biodiversity Area. As the longest-serving board member of PECFN, her passion for the natural world led to her spearheading the fight against Industrial Wind Turbines in Prince Edward County’s South Shore – a major migratory pathway. Later Myrna was a founding member of the South Shore Joint Initiative. Myrna is survived by her sister Marillyn Akkerman (Aiken), her nephew Gregg Akkerman and remembered and missed by her many friends in Prince Edward County. Her wisdom and her legacy will continue to inspire us all. DORIS CLAIRE JOHNSTON – March 29th, 1954 – September 24th, 2025 – Doris grew up close to St. Malo, Manitoba on the family farm. She was the 8th of 12 children, nine boys and three girls, raised by Armande and Aurille Catellier. Doris cherished her large family that spread across the prairies as it grew. She always shone a little brighter when surrounded by her Catellier clan. It was her Ricky that persuaded her to come to Ontario to start their life together. He introduced that prairie girl to boating in the 1000 Islands region and she was hooked. Boating and life on the water became a passion of hers too. Doris and Rick moved to Peterborough and then Toronto for a brief time for work but eventually decided to move to Wellington after the birth of their daughter, Elizabeth. In Wellington, Doris built a life centred around her family, her friends young and old, and living to the fullest. She was adventurous, friendly, generous, and honest. Her door was always open, fridge always stocked. She was a cheerleader, a protector and a safe space for many. Summers were spent boating to the beach with her friends and their kids and later, the grandkids. Winters were spent traveling to see family or exploring other parts of the world. Doris made new friends wherever she went. Doris and Rick provided a supportive, loving home for Elizabeth and attracted a community of wonderful people for her and her husband, Matthew, to be a part of. Doris also developed a special connection with both her grandchildren. She loved Thora and Milo with all her heart. Doris leaves behind a giant hole in our families and hearts. We will deeply miss her beautiful smile, hugs, stories and the boost felt from visiting with her. The beach will remain a special place for us all because she loved it so much. A celebration of life will be planned at the beach in the summer of 2026. Doris, until the day we can dance together again. We love you. Love Always.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Hospice Prince Edward in honour of Doris. We are all so grateful of the care and support she was given.

GARY COOPER – July 27, 1956 – September 21, 2025 – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gary Cooper, who left us peacefully after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on Sunday, September 21, 2025 at the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital. He was surrounded by his loving family in his final moments. Gary was 69 years old. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Gary lived his life with a deep and unwavering love for his family. Whether he was cheering from the sidelines, sharing a laugh around the kitchen table, or simply being there when it mattered most, Gary’s presence was a comforting constant in the lives of those who knew him. A true grill master, Gary believed that the best memories were made around a BBQ, with the smell of smoke in the air and laughter echoing through the backyard. His legendary ribs, secret marinade, and perfectly cooked chicken-to-die-for brought together family and friends time and time again. To Gary, every cookout was more than just a meal — it was a celebration of togetherness. But it was his quick wit and unforgettable sense of humor that truly set him apart. Gary had the rare gift of making anyone feel at ease, armed with a clever joke, a warm smile, and an ability to find light in even the darkest moments. His sharp one-liners and hilarious nicknames will live on in the stories told by those lucky enough to have known him. Gary’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and strength. MAUREEN FINNEGAN – Mary Catherine Maureen Finnegan (née Bowler) passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 30th; just two weeks shy of her 91st birthday. When asked about growing older, she always said that the key to staying young was to “keep your hands busy and your mind always thinking of others.” Maureen devoted her life to service and to her community. She was born in beautiful Point Anne to Tom and Bernice Bowler (Hart). Maureen was raised in a loving family in a community she adored. Maureen met and fell in love with Leo Finnegan at St. Michael’s Catholic High School in Belleville. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this past June. Together, on Low Street (where the Finnegan’s many neighbours became lifelong friends), Maureen and Leo raised 3 beautiful children; Erin (Brent), Patrick (Debbie) and Peter (Marisa). Even after all of these years, Leo would still refer to Maureen as “the smartest girl in school.” In January 1997, Maureen retired from her role as manager of the Prince Edward Corrections Advisory Board. She loved her work and approached each day with empathy, understanding and grace; traits that she carried into her retirement. She was one of Community Care for Seniors’ longest-serving volunteers and was the first woman to serve as chair on the Picton Police Services Board. In addition to this, she was on the board of the Children’s Aid Society, Children’s Services Committee, Alternatives for Women, St. Vincent de Paul, Adult Mental Health Co-ordinating Committee, Prince Edward Chapter of the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation, and more. To quote a birthday card that was recently left anonymously at Hallowell House for Maureen, “To everyone whose life you touched, we’d like to say thanks so much.” Maureen is best remembered for her compassionate heart, her sharp wit, her sage wisdom and her ability to connect everything in life to a song. Maureen drew strength from her faith in God and was a longtime member of St. Gregory’s Parish. Maureen will be deeply missed by her husband Leo, her three children, her seven grandchildren; Sarah (Alex), Jeffrey, David (Amanda), Shannon, Julia, Ethan and Bridget as well as her two great-grandchildren Griffin and Miller. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, September 13th at 11:00am at St. Gregory the Great Roman Catholic Church, 7 Church Street, Picton. Rev. George Okoye officiating. PAUL WOOD – Passed away peacefully in his wife’s embrace at Hospice Prince Edward on Tuesday, February 25th, 2025, as he had wished, in his 59th year. When life was more simple, Paul dedicated numerous years to minor hockey, actively supporting his son’s participation and attending numerous tournaments. Raised on a dairy farm, he instilled in his daughter a profound appreciation for animals, and they shared countless hours in the barn together. Paul began his journey with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in June 2013 requiring months of chemotherapy and an Autologous Stem Cell transplant. Finally, in 2015 receiving the news of “remission”. Over the next five years, Paul lived life to the fullest. He started his business; Paul Wood Construction where his attention to detail and passion was evident in his work. He enjoyed and cherished every moment spent with his family, and in his tractors. Regrettably, Hodgkin’s Lymphoma resurfaced in 2020. After a ten-month regimen of intense chemotherapy, it was determined that the most effective course of action would be to relocate to Ottawa, where Paul underwent a life-saving stem cell transplant from his brother, George. This intervention resulted in a state of remission. Life resumed for three more years. Paul escorted his daughter down the aisle, witnessed his son become a red seal carpenter, and was present to welcome his first granddaughter, whom he held dear. The most recent diagnosis of Burkitt Lymphoma in June 2024 was the most arduous battle. Two weeks of unwavering joy were abruptly shattered by the unimaginable news. Although he didn’t let cancer define the man he was, after a 13-year battle, he can now rest. Paul leaves behind his beloved wife of 33 years, Katie Wood, their children, Katlyn Rabbie (Brad) and Kurtis (Joelle), and his granddaughter, Isabella Rabbie. Survived by his mother Carol (late Roland), and brother George (Ann). Paul will be deeply missed by his nieces, nephews, extended family, and numerous friends. Paul’s family is forever grateful for the tremendous care, kindness and patience the staff on KGH Kidd 9 Oncology Unit showed over the past 13 years, as well as Dr. Burke and Dr. Leblanc. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Wellington Elks Lodge #566 on Sunday March 16th from 2-4 pm. Remembrances will be shared at 2:30pm with refreshments to follow. RAYMOND “CLINE” PIERSON – April 16, 1946 – February 16, 2025 – In the arms of his true love and with his daughters by his side, Cline finally stopped working late Sunday afternoon. He always lived his life as he chose to and it was no different in death. Cline’s life was full. At a very early age, he lost his mother. The village mothers looked out for him and he never forgot them or their kindness. This upbringing gave him a love for Wellington and its people that many do not experience. Cline began working in Frank Brimley’s Lucky Dollar in his teens. He later bought the business and ran it for several years before building the IGA across the street in 1980. The store stands as a cornerstone in downtown now as a Foodland. The store allowed him to keep doing what he loved best and be with the people of the town. His dedication to the community led him into local politics. He served on the Wellington Utilities and later was elected to serve on the County Utilities after amalgamation. He also served on the Hospital Foundation Board of Directors for many years and was part of the governing body working to get a new hospital. He was a supporter of the new arena when it was built. He looked forward to the Dukes home games, but it was talking to the fans that brought him the most enjoyment. A quiet philanthropist, Cline’s generosity was frequent and far-reaching, always without fanfare or hype. He didn’t care if people knew. Cline wore many hats over the years, but more than anything, he was a loving husband to Linda Lou, an amazing father to Amy (Jason) and Addie (Leonel). He was a proud Grampy to Sophie, Avery, Jackson, Naylan and Jasper. Cline will be missed by sister-in-law Joanne Pierson and nephews Paul, Don and Jay. Cline fiercely battled an insidious disease, Lewy Body Dementia, and when he decided he had endured enough, he willed himself his peace. He is reunited with his father Harry, mother Nina, step-mother Cora and sisters June and Mona, and brother Ross. No doubt he is also spending time with some of his best friends, his father-in-law Bill and his mother-in-law Jane and is holding his granddaughter Laurel. Cline’s family would like to extend their gratitude to his neighbours and friends in the community who looked out for him in his time of need. To the staff of Foodland, we can’t thank you enough for your love, patience and respect for him when he showed up to work in the store he loved, especially these past few difficult years. Thank you to Dr. Burrows and Dr. Szymanska, nurses France, Kristie and Michela for their excellent care. Thanks also to our old friend John Cole for his kind concern. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Cline’s Life will be on Wednesday, March 5th from 2-5 at in the Highline Hall at the Wellington & District Community Centre. Family burial will take place in warmer weather. GILLES CHRETIEN – In Loving Memory of Gilles Chrétien – Gilles Romeo Chrétien, affectionately nicknamed “Bune” (French Canadian slang for Good), laughed through life with his gentle ways, witty banter, infectious sense of humour and good cheer, right to the end. He died suddenly and peacefully on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, after discovering only Sunday that cancer had swept through his body. “I did a good job,” he said with a laugh Monday morning, “and I’ve had a great life. What more could someone ask for?” A beloved father, husband, and friend, Gilles is remembered as someone who went after his vision with a “joie de vivre” that was both irresistible, and irreplaceable. Gilles was a true farmer and was happiest when he was on his land. He had an entrepreneurial spirit that extended well beyond the farm, as evidence in the County hospitality landmarks (Lake on the Mountain) he created with his beloved wife Joan, family and friends. His entrepreneurial sprit was fuelled by his sense of humour and imagination, and his love for family, friends, and a beautiful property he loved dearly and protected fiercely. Gilles was predeceased by his parents, Hector and Irene Chrétien; and siblings Hector, Nel, Olive (Meyer), Margaret (Coon), Gerry; and close cousin Henry. He is survived by his sisters Claudette (Morrow) and Dolores (Mowry). Gilles leaves behind his loving wife Joan and daughters Nicole, Chantal, and Danielle, their spouses Todd Robertson, Derek Veenhof and Ryan Kreutzwiser respectively, along with his beautiful granddaughters Lizzie, Sophie and Ellie, whom he dearly loved. Gilles Chretien’s memory will live on in the hearts and minds of those who knew him. His life was a testament to the power of enjoying spontaneity in the midst of a day’s work, the love of good music and a humorous joke, and most importantly an unwavering commitment to a vision of building something that could be enjoyed and remembered by patrons and family members for years to come. Gilles family would like to thank both family and friends for their unwavering support and especially Dr. Graham Burke who cared for Gilles over the years and was a dear friend to him. MIREILLE ALINE MIRAMONTES – January 6, 1937 – December 29, 2024 – It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Mireille Miramontes. She was predeceased by Bill, her cherished husband of 66 years, and darling daughter Monique. Mireille was born in St. Hyacinthe Quebec to Armand and Aline Graveline. In her teens, she and her family moved to California. Mireille and Bill met in high school, were married two years after graduation, and a decade later relocated to Picton, Ontario. Mireille had a creative, artistic, and musical soul. She was a dressmaker, crochet and needlepoint maniac, Christmas crafter, quilter. The piano was her primary instrument but she also liked to play the autoharp, ukulele, and mandolin. Her repertoire was eclectic; classical to the hit parade, show tunes and movie themes, chansons and carols. Mireille and Bill were a globetrotting team, he the planner and she the chronicler. Later years saw them become snowbirds seasonally migrating to Florida or California. They always returned home having made new friends. Mireille was a consummate bridge player and she relished her Friday afternoon lunch and bridge parties with the girls. She was also the go-to player to phone when a table needed a fourth and she rarely turned down a request. Mireille’s priority was her family and her dedication was tireless. She was the heartbeat of our home and it is silent and empty without her. She is survived by her loving sons Jean-Jacques, Gilles, and Serge and her grandchildren Adam, Marissa, Melanie, Sofie, Rachael, Jessica, and Hailey. As per Mireille’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family Celebration Of Life Service will be held in the spring.
