The Ed Sullivan Caravan of Stars rolled into the Regent Theatre on the weekend and wowed an almost full house of all ages ready to see “A Really Big Show”.
The interactive performances celebrated the legendary variety program from CBS-TV from 1948 to 1971, hosted by Sullivan, a New York entertainment columnist. Virtually every type of entertainment appeared on the show – including opera singers, poular artists, songwriters, comedians, ballet dancers, dramatic actors performing monologues, and even circus acts.
Most of all, viewers remember the musical acts as the Ed Sullivan Show served as a launching pad for numerous future legends – most notably Elvis Presley and The Beatles.
