As the Royal Canadian Air Force’s Air Mobility hub, 8 Wing CFB Trenton remains ready for any mission it may be called upon to perform by the government of Canada. This includes search and rescue and critical transport missions in Canada, and around the world.
To this end, residents of Prince Edward County, Quinte West and Hastings County are advised that aircraft, including CC-130 Hercules, CC-177 Globemasters, CC-150 Polaris and CH-146 Griffon search and rescue helicopters will be conducting training that ensures crews remain ready to respond to missions.
“Members of 8 Wing are cognizant that many people are at home during this time to limit the spread of COVID-19, and are therefore adjusting regular training as able, to mitigate impact on residential areas,” said Major Trevor Reid, RCAF 8 Wing Trenton Public Affairs. “Please be advised that the number of flights at 8 Wing has been significantly reduced compared to recent history.”
