Ameliasburgh opened its doors for old-time Christmas cheer

It was a time to take a look at Christmas traditions from times past on Saturday. Traveling to four locations within the village of Ameliasburgh by horse drawn wagon, visitors enjoyed cookie decorating, wreath making, lantern making and carol singing while warming up with hot chocolate, mulled cider and snacks.
“This is our first year and we’re thrilled,” said Sandy Latchford about the free event, “We thought the rain would deter people, but we’ve been swamped. We had a waiting line to get to the cookie decorating, we couldn’t believe it!”

The Ameliasburgh branch of the County library was thrilled to be part of this! We had over 160 people through the library during the event where families could get their family photo taken by professional photographer Kelly Taylor, sing Christmas carols with singer Sara Harris and make a craft or two to take home. What great fun. Thanks to all who came out.
