Prince Edward Hastings MP Daryl Kramp invites communities to request funding for Canada Day 2011 activities.
The Department of Canadian Heritage provides funding for activities organized during the Celebrate Canada period of June 21-July 1. The application deadline is Jan. 15, 2011.
“Communities across this riding show their Canadian pride every July 1st and I strongly encourage them to apply for this funding’, said Kramp.
The deadline for submitting an application is earlier in 2011 than in previous years. Eligible recipients include: Canadian not-for-profit organizations, unincorporated associations, Canadian businesses whose projects are non-commercial in nature, Canadian educational institutions and municipal governments, and other municipal, provincial, or territorial institutions.
The funding application form are available on the Celebrate Canada website http://www.canadianheritage.gc.ca/Canada under the “How to obtain funding” tab.
As the application deadline falls on a Saturday, the department will accept applications mailed (postmarked) or delivered to a Canadian Heritage regional office by Monday, January 17. Applications postmarked or delivered after this date will not be accepted.
