Average home sale price $224,000

February 2015 numbers showed more homes for sale at higher prices.
Quinte & District Association of Realtors numbers reflect 157 homes sold in 2015 compared to 122 in 2014. The February average residential sale price was 5.6 per cent higher than 2014, coming in at $224,295 compared to $212,500 last year.

“February also showed an increase in new residential listings compared with last year, with 380 in 2015 and 350 in 2014,” said Jamie Troke, president of the association. “The coldest February in memory has been a challenge for many, but the numbers show that didn’t stop determined buyers and sellers.”

The listing inventory is shows a slight decrease from this time last year, he noted, “but with the warmer weather just around the corner this may be the best time to list or look for a great property.”
