Linda Bailey, author of the popular Stanley’s Party series including the latest, Stanley’s Little Sister (nominated for the 2011 Blue Spruce Award) travelled from Vancouver to appear at the Picton and Wellington branches of the County of Prince Edward Public Library and Archives last week.
Response was so positive from schools that three presentations by the author had to be arranged – one in Picton and two in Wellington – to accommodate the demand.
“The library was fortunate to make this event possible with such a high profile children’s author,” says Barbara Sweet. “We are committed to working with the school community to promote literacy and learning experiences, and author readings such as this one are just one more way to achieve that goal.”
