Big Bike riders in Picton showed a lot of heart Saturday. “With a few corporate matches that are still to come in we are looking at $20,000 raised today for Heart and Stroke research,” said Maureen Corrigan, area manager for the Hastings, Prince Edward County and Brighton Heart and Stroke Foundation. The Regent Theatre Volunteers and Welch Big Bike riders, above, raised more than $3,500. Other riders included Highline Mushrooms’ The Fungis; Chestnut Park Nuts on a Stroll; Scotiabank and team Diane Williams. The 29-seat Big Bike ride takes place in more than 200 communities with close to 70,000 participants working to make a difference to the heart health of Canadians.
