Bong vs bear spray as clerk fends off attempted robbery at cannabis store

A surveillance video from a Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory business made it to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert this week as the “Most Canadian Marijuana Story Ever”.
Tyendinaga police report three males entered the Recreational Cannabis Farmers Market about 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6 brandishing canisters of bear spray and were met with great resistance by the store clerk, who, despite being sprayed, managed to successfully fight them off with a bong and forced them to leave the store.
Police report the suspects fled the scene westbound on Old Highway 2 in a white SUV. The incident is still under investigation. Anybody with information is asked to contact Cst. Brinklow or D/Cst. Leland, of the Tyendinaga Police Service at 613-967-3888.
