Burn ban ended for County

UPDATE: The burn ban has ended.
The Prince Edward County Fire Department as issued a burning ban throughout the County.
Winds are out of the southwest at 45 km/h and with gusts upwards of 68km/h. These winds are to be constant until later this evening and into Saturday.
Even when the ground is wet, the dry grass, brush and weeds on top left from the fall and winter months remain highly combustible.
This heightens the risk of a grass fire racing out of control in windy spring-like weather conditions.
