Burn ban now a partial ban in PEC

Prince Edward County’s fire chief has downgraded the County’s burn ban to a partial ban as of this morning.

The partial ban allows residents and visitors to use burn barrels and have campfires. No other outdoor burning is allowed at this time.

Rainfall over the weekend has improved the ground conditions however, outdoor water restrictions are still in effect as Quinte Conservtion has not lowered the Level 3 low water status. Restrictions remain in place until the level is downgraded to Level 2 or lower.

Restrictions on burning have also been eased in Bellevillle, Madoc and Marmora.

To burn, you must have a permit activated by calling the fire station at 613-476-2345.
