Carrying Place mom scratches $100,000 win

Lori Chard of Carrying Place is $100,000 richer after winning the top prize with a $5 instant Blackjack Casino scratch ticket.

Lori, a mother of one, said she thought she won $100 at first.

“When I realized it actually said $100,000, I went to validate it right away,” she shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her winnings. “I was shocked! It didn’t really sink in until OLG called.”

Lori told her son right away about her windfall.

“First thing he said was, ‘No way mom!’ He was so happy for me,” she smiled.

Lori said it’s all very overwhelming. “It didn’t feel real at first. I didn’t sleep at all the first night.”

She plans to save for retirement and is considering a trip in the future.

The winning ticket was purchased at Free Flow Petroleum on Loyalist Parkway in Carrying Place.

OLG is booking in-person prize claim appointments at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto. It encourages those with claims between $1,000 and $49,999.90 to submit them online or mail them in. Customers with prizes over $50,000 are asked to call 1-800-387-0098 to discuss available prize claim options.
