Clippers capture bronze; teams play throughout province

It was March Madness for County Clippers basketball this weekend with all five teams in action around the province.
The U12 Girls team captured the bronze medal at the Kingston Impact tournament after defeating the Lindsay Wildcats 28 – 27. Both the U14 and U16 boys won all their games and went a perfect 5 – 0 combined this weekend.
“Overall, the County Clippers played 19 games and had 9 wins and 10 losses,” said Rob Garden, Clippers president.

U12 GIRLS in Kingston: 25 – 24 win vs. Belleville Spirits, 38 – 17 loss vs. Timmins Selects, 38-30 win vs. Toronto Lords, 48 – 22 loss vs. Kingston Impact and 28 – 27 win vs. Lindsay Wildcats (bronze medal game)
U14 GIRLS in Hamilton: 42 – 17 loss to Kingsville Class, 28-22 loss to Kitchener-Waterloo Vipers, 48-26 loss to Milton Stags, 35 – 11 loss to Niagara Falls Red Devils & 18 – 14 loss to Kingsville Class
U16 GIRLS in Kingston: 61 – 34 loss to Nepean Blue Devils, 45 – 24 loss to Kingston Impact, 24-17 win vs. Ottawa Shooting Stars, 41 – 29 loss to Arnprior Devils
U14 BOYS in Belleville: 38 – 29 win vs. Belleville Spirits, 39-20 win vs. Courtice Hawks & 41-39 win vs. Smiths Falls Red Hawks
U16 BOYS in Ottawa: 74-39 win vs. Prescott-Russell Rockets and 64-47 win vs. Ottawa South Bedrock.
