Community Foundation hires executive director

The Prince Edward County Community Foundation will embark on its mission to address community needs with the hiring of its first executive director Bridget Stevenson.
“Bridget’s background in community development and fundraising make her a wonderful fit for our organization,” said CCF President Carlyn Moulton.  “This marks the beginning of an exciting new phase in the foundation’s evolution.”
Stevenson graduated from Trent University, then obtained a Masters of Science degree from the University of Guelph’s School of Rural Planning and Development.  Her primary area of research was on building relationships among communities, governments, the private sector and non-governmental organizations.  A resident of the Consecon area, she has been an active volunteer with many community groups, most recently as the Chair of the Kente Public School Parent Council.
“I am very excited about being part of this initiative” says Stevenson.  “The County Community Foundation’s mission to assess and address community needs, and to build community strengths, is one that I firmly believe in.”
Having Stevenson on board means the County Community Foundation will be able to strengthen its development efforts in Prince Edward County, says Moulton.
“The foundation has established several ways for donors to support their community.  Scholarship funds, donor designated funds, and endowments are being established.
The foundation has recently launched The County Community Fund, which allows the foundation to support worthy community initiatives that require financial support.  A growing number of individuals are contributing to the fund, often as a tribute to a loved one, or as a member of the Founder’s Circle.”
The County Community Foundation will be opening its office in the Edward Building in Picton on June 20th.  For more information, contact the CCF at 613-476-7901 x218, or email info@countycommunityfoundation.ca
