Anna Marie Ferguson, executive director, and Briar Boyce, communications co-ordinator, report the community raised about $20,000 for the PECMH Foundation and equipment needs at Picton hospital.
More than 500 people in the community helped raise $20,000.00 for the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation and equipment needs at Picton hospital.
“We were thrilled with the attendance, with many patrons traveling from all over Ontario and as far away as Athens, Greece,” noted Anna Marie Ferguson, the foundation’s executive director.
“Dr. Josh Colby and his band were a great start to the evening, setting the stage for a fabulous performance by the John McDermott trio, which ended with Mr. McDermott’s encore rendition of Danny Boy.”
Ferguson, on behalf of the foundations, offers special thanks to the PECMH Auxiliary for members’ help co-ordinating and selling 50/50 tickets. The $545 winner was Jacky Dubois of Belle River, Ont. The concert was generously sponsored by Lanny and Catharine Huff and Huff Estates Winery, RBC Dominion Securities and Tom Belch and Sons Building Contractors.
McDermott spent lots of time during intermission and after the show meeting with fans, signing autographs and being photographed with fans.
Proceeds will support the purchase of priority medical equipment for the medical staff at PECMH.
