Community Living calls on residents to count down to Earth Day

What started as a great green idea in 2023 just sprouted even more momentum.

Community Living Prince Edward has officially begun the countdown to Earth Day April 22 with another community call to action for County residents to share tips how they will support the earth.

Starting now, and continuing throughout the year, County Advocates invite you to think about the earth first and pledge how to make a difference.

From April 15-22, everyone is invited to share Earth Day pledges and tips by commenting on Earth Day posts on the Community Living Prince Edward Facebook page.

Every comment will be entered into a draw to win an environmentally-friendly swag bag.

In the meantime, each County Advocate has pledged to make every day Earth Day by doing the following:
– Taking care of the earth by picking up litter when I see it
– Reducing, reusing and recycling
– Helping to care for growing things like trees and flowers
– Encouraging my family members, friends and co-workers to learn about ways to get involved and taking active care of our community.

And for even more inspiration, here are additional things people can do to support Earth Day:

– Instead of using more bag tags, use the green bin and compost
– Use reusable water bottles
– Don’t do laundry every day and don’t do small loads
– Use a cleaning cloth instead of paper towels
– Turn off lights when not in the room
– No single use plastics
– Host a Trash Bash Day
– In the winter, turn down your heat
– In the summer, don’t use your air conditioner, or don’t have it set too cold
